" UNHEARD VOICES" film is part of the multimedia installation that is measuring 2.4 X 8.6 metres and   explores family intergenerational transmission. The intention of the film is to reclaim the power and the role     of   the woman within the family with the help of the other women and men in her tribe. To help each other to   rise and nurture the future generations. Back in the day, Romanian families would come together on   Sundays and dance barefoot in traditional clothing, hoping that the week's ill luck would be washed away   through dance. Despite the weight of the family histories, the performing element represents the potential of   life and joy.

The overview of the "Unheard Voices" installation

Here is some experimental art or work in progress that incorporates pictures from the personal archive into collages. Old photographs are another method of archiving family histories, which is one of the important interests in Cristina's practise. She is painting over images with a mixture of white acrylic and wax to explore the idea of someone being misunderstood or overlooked within a family.

A NEW WAY OF LOVE

"A new way of love" is a mixed-media installation 150cmX140cmX90cm, Islinghton Arts Factory, 2022,  presented in a rectangular shape and formed by 2 elements: a box from aluminium strips with 2 acrylic transparent sheets with poured wax and a sculpture. The whole installation portray the female escapism from the patriarchal traditional world. The video is a continuation of the installation, which use the human body to liberate itself from all historical context.

During her Art studies, we can notice the presence of the wax which is a medium she explores in a deconstructive manner  and applied on different surfaces.

Work derived from the installation "A new way of love" in video form.
